NORTH FORK OF THE SHOSHONE

Flows are at 687cfs today. The river keeps fluctuating with runoff. It is actually down since last week, but won’t stay that way for long. Remember the North Fork will close April 15th from Newton creek down to Gibbs Bridge. There will most likely be decent fishing above Newton creek once the closure kicks in. On days the river is clean, nymphing stoneflies works the best. The river is currently crawling with stonefly nymphs. Also try perdigons, soft hackle pheasant tails, and nf specials.

SOUTH FORK OF THE SHOSHONE

The river has dropped to 77cfs. With the upcoming weather expect the river to spike quick. Usually big spikes during runnoff will turn off the fishing, and dirty up the water for at least a few days, if not more. The fishing is really good on days the river is clean. Nymphing stoneflies, perdigons, pheasnat tails, duracells, and midges are working the best. Streamers are starting to work really well. Still try smaller to medium buggers or similar with a slower retrieve.

LOWER SHOSHONE

Flows are once again doubled from last week, and currently at 903cfs. The fishing has been good, but the fish might need to adjust to the new bump for a few days. Nymphing has been the best. Midges, pheasant tails, perdigons, duracells, meatheads, worms. BWO action on dries can be good at times. Streamers have been working at times too.

Thermopolis, Wyoming

BIGHORN RIVER

Flows are around 937cfs. Nymphing is by far going to be the most productive. Sowbugs, scuds, baetis, midges, worms, perdigons, duracells, pheasant tails. Dry fly and streamers are becoming much more productive.
